New route, same compass The new year brings with it a wind of novelty for Profumo di Alfa.
This is the first issue that sees our new publisher, Giuseppe Biselli, at the helm, who with his Edizioni BOX LAB takes up the baton left, after four years of intense and passionate activity, by F&V Editori. An important handover, which looks with confidence to the goals that await us.
Don’t worry! I will still be in the role of editorial director, Mario Fontana, with the same commitment as always: to maintain a journalistic line based on the authoritativeness of data and the curiosity to discover new stories, new cars, new chapters of the Alfa Romeo universe. Pleasantries archived, fasten your seatbelts: the journey in this first issue of 2026 is quite varied.
It starts with a dip in the past of Friulian motorsport, to discover the early Auto Delta: the one born in Feletto Umberto, before the acquisition by Alfa Romeo made it slip into a long season of oblivion. Then we find an old acquaintance who this year celebrates an important milestone: the A.R. 51, which blows out 75 candles and continues to climb where many modern off-road vehicles still hesitate to go. A youngtimer could not be missing, and in fact here it is: a mysterious black 159 Sportwagon JTDm, first series, 200 hp.
A car with an intriguing history, passed through the hands of many journalists who drove it in order to write tests in specialized magazines, before being purchased semi-new from the Fiat Auto press park in 2008 by the current owner. Then there is a touch of timeless elegance with the 1900C SS Touring Superleggera in its fascinating two-tone paintwork: confirmation that you can be seventy years old and turn heads more than a twenty-year-old. And when passion becomes almost a creed, we could only go to Carpi, to a place that we have compared to a “secular sanctuary”: a unique space that welcomes and celebrates lovers of Montreal. And then many other articles, stories, images and details to inaugurate a new year together in style.
