Product description
This collector’s photo book is dedicated to the International Rally of Sicily / Targa Florio Rally, whose first edition dates back to 1972, won by Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci with an official Lancia HF.
Also in the next edition, that of 1973, Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci won with the Fulvia HF, ahead of Amilcare Ballestrieri and Silvio Maiga with the Lancia Fulvia HF. Third Sergio Barbasio and Gino Macaluso with the Fiat 124 Spider, fourth Maurizio Verini and Bruno Scabini with the Fiat 124 Spider.
The International Rally of Sicily was thus becoming an unmissable race for the strongest drivers of that period and for the manufacturers, who considered it an important test bench for their cars, for the hardness of the truly grueling path that these Teams had to face.
In the following years the Rally made a further leap in quality, becoming a test for the European Championship, and since 1978 it has been combined with the Targa Florio.
This book presents the editions from 1972 to 1983, with about 450 exclusive images both in color and black and white, the memories of some of the main protagonists (Franco Cunico, Mauro Pregliasco, Tony Fassina, Lucky, Mario Pasetti, Dario Cerrato, Geppi Cerri, Rudy Dalpozzo, Emilio Radaelli) and the relative rankings.
As Tony Fassina writes about the book, “the Rally of Sicily, is the most beautiful Rally at the national level” … so one more reason, to share this publication.
