1750: one number, a thousand emotions
The visceral love for vintage cars, and in particular for those with the Alfa Romeo brand, is a complex phenomenon that combines history, design, driving experience, exclusivity, nostalgia, community and innovation. These cars are not just cars, but symbols of an era and a car art that continues to inspire and fascinate generations of enthusiasts. And then driving a vintage car is a unique experience that cannot be replicated by modern cars. Direct contact with the vehicle, the need to know all its characteristics and to be in tune with the mechanics, creates a deep bond between the car and the driver.
With these words I want to anticipate the spirit of a double article on the theme of 1750. As in the page of an advertisement of the time that you find published on the next page, starting from a 6C 1750 Gran Sport Spider carriaged Zagato of 1931 and its rites to set it in motion and then drive it on today’s streets, to arrive at the Berlin symbol of an era, the 1750 of the late 60s. While the cover of this issue is dedicated to the longest-lived car produced by Casa del Biscione, 28 years of career, the Spider IV series, a model that many of us would like in our garage and then take a walk with the wind in our hair. Staying on the theme of the classics, the Giulietta Ti from the second half of the 50s was the dream of all Italians struggling with the miracle of the economic boom, many have had it and some even bought it back many years later, white, just like then.
A jump into the 90s makes us rediscover a “family” that sported the emblem of the Quadrifoglio, green, The 33 Sport Waggon 1.7 16V with 137 HP: an engine that is all a program in a trendy body… chic stuff. Forty years is a lot? Are they few? However, they must be celebrated so we made an article about the Alfa 90, the flagship that lasted little in the price lists, too much the same as the Alfetta that it had to replace, but it had the numbers.
We conclude this editorial with a special thank you to you, our readers, who continue to support us and share with us this extraordinary editorial adventure.
Good reading and good journey on the roads of passion.Enjoy your reading.
