Main article and cover car : 1991 Ferrari F40 GTE, chassis no. 90001
The F40 is one of the most iconic Ferraris ever. Its racing derivatives added further performance, as well as extreme rarity, as only 31 were built in total. Six of these were GTE-spec, but only a few actually raced. Chassis no. 90001 is the most significant of the GTEs, being the only example to have competed in all four seasons of the championship, achieving notable results as well. The car was equipped with engine no. 27668. Initially a road car, it was transformed into a racer following a meeting with Swedish driver Anders Olofsson, with work carried out by another Swede, tuner Bo Strandell. The car made its track debut at Monza on March 28, 1993, competing in the first round of the Italian GT Supercar Championship. Since then, it has swung from circuit to circuit, undergoing several livery changes. In 1994, the year the car was upgraded to BPR specifications, it achieved three pole positions, three fastest laps, and its first victory, as well as making its first appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 1995-96, it underwent a further evolution, carried out directly by Michelotto. It was during this period that it acquired its current “Swedish flag” livery. Immaculately restored by Michelotto Automobili, it was unveiled at Pebble Beach in 2024 and won its class…

Link to main article : Pietro Camardella is the Pininfarina designer behind the 456, F40, F50, 512 TR, and Mythos. Five Ferraris in five years for the Turin-based manufacturer, as he likes to point out. But while the 456 and Mythos were almost entirely designed by him, the F40 has many creative fathers, including the legendary Aldo Brovarone. Here, Camardella explains why, despite being the youngest on the team, he was entrusted with the project.

Profile : 1974 365 GTS4 s/n 16573. A brown Ferrari?! That’s probably how many people react to the idea, and it’s exactly how this car’s current owner reacted when she first heard about it. But then, seeing it “in person,” it was love at first sight, and one look at this “Daytona” Spyder, chassis number 16573, is enough to understand why. One of only 122 examples produced, this 365 GTS4—the 82nd built—sports its original Marrone Colorado Metallic (Salchi paint code 106-M-73) color scheme over a Pelle Beige (Connolly code VM 3218) interior, and comes equipped with air conditioning and a radio. According to factory records, it was one of only five examples produced in this color and the only one with the VM 3218 Beige Leather interior. It was sold by the factory to official Chinetti dealer Garthwaite Imports Inc. of Paoli, Pennsylvania, in August 1973, and from there it made its way to Miami.

Events : The 35th edition of the Palm Beach Cavallino Classic was simply extraordinary. Not only for the record number of Ferraris present, but also for the extraordinary quality of each one. The “legacy” category, dedicated to previous Cavallino Best of Show winners, offered an incredible selection of extraordinary Ferraris, some with truly remarkable histories. Finally, an unexpected gathering recreated the exact Ferrari display from the 1954 Turin Motor Show… Enjoy the full report (with complete list of serial numbers) and the history of the two Best of Shows…

F1: 2026 will be a revolutionary year in F1, and here we identify and describe the technical strategies of the new Ferrari, including its controversial rotary wing. Focus: It was November 1996 when engineer Giuseppe “Pino” D’Agostino joined Ferrari’s Gestione Sportiva. D’Agostino recounts his experience in the most successful racing department in Ferrari’s history and how the team grew into a major powerhouse. He also recalls how engineer De Virgilio, born in 1911 and the technical father of Lancia’s first post-war V6 engines, played a key role in its creation.

Racing: In this column, we update you on the first races of the 2026 GT and WEC seasons.

Link to Corsa : Two in-depth articles on Ferrari’s very early years in Formula 1 and the 75th anniversary of the team’s first victory, at Silverstone in 1951. Ferrari didn’t have an easy start to racing, and its first two years in F1 were plagued by performance and reliability issues. But the cars were fast, and the drivers learned to respect the dark red single-seaters produced in Maranello. In Cavallino, we analyze the innovations, but also the men who made them possible and their successes, always citing the chassis numbers of the cars involved in the races. Then, a detailed account of the victory at Silverstone in 1951, when, after beating Alfa Romeo, the uncharacteristically impassive Enzo Ferrari declared: “I feel like I’ve just killed my mother…”

Finally, as always, Cavallino offers you articles by various editorialists who delve into a variety of topics, as well as a complete and updated list of Ferrari market values (including the latest models) compiled by specialists who analyze the values and market trends of different Ferrari vehicles.
