This book covers the first generation of a new kind of BMW, one designed around an all-over drive system. BMW was the first major manufacturer to build a luxury wagon with sports car performance – the Sports Activity Vehicle. Others have followed but the X5 still sets the benchmark. Included are model releases, road and comparison tests plus full technical and performance data. A total of 136 pages fully illustrated. 

This collection is a valuable historical testimony, consisting of photocopies of articles published in the most important industry magazines in English. The articles include road tests, comparisons, and often in-depth technical descriptions. Although it represents significant documentation on the history of motoring, it is not known for its high typographical quality, as it consists of simple photocopies or facsimile reproductions.
