Product description
After a short introduction about the origins of the first vehicles with a compressor engine, the story follows about Lucy Franchi and her brother Pierre from Paris. They were successful with their café-chantant, where many new artists performed, such as Edith Piaf and Django Reinhardt, who would later become world famous. The interesting events during and after the Second World War are also excellently documented.
In 2014, the 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet A was auctioned in Stuttgart on behalf of Monaco Auto, who had purchased the car from the estate of Pierre Franchi. The current owner Hans Hulsberger from Switzerland bid on the car and became the second owner.
The book is full of archival pictures and documents.
